Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities report that a former physician has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
