Presence Film
The acclaimed director pushes his film-making abilities in this clever ghostly tale captured wholly from the viewpoint of a ghost. As a family including mother Rebekah and her distressed teen Chloe settles into their new suburban house, the lens – as the unseen entity – shadows their actions. The premise is enjoyable that doesn't outstay its welcome, featuring a surprise that may be unexpected. Saturday 11 October, multiple showings, Sky Cinema

The Black Phone Horror
Scott Derrickson's contained scarefest stands strong without requiring a continuation. Set in 1970s Colorado, multiple disappearances has made the local kids frightened. The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the battle between faith and wealth, the victory is clear for Mammon in Showalter's delightfully tacky film adaptation about the fallen TV preacher plus her lawbreaking partner. The actor portrays the greedy Jim, who states initially, claiming divine approval for wealth. The couple begin monetising the American public's Christian beliefs. It's a riot of bad interior design, excessive cosmetics and bad faith, however the lead actress succeeds to depict the real-life figure with compassion. Next Tuesday, late night, on Film4
Black Bag
This week's another release from Steven Soderbergh presents a spy mystery as tight as the polo necks used by the actor's UK spy.
