That Gory Animated Film Conclusion That Lingers Fans

Out of all the adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve personally viewed, no other has remained with me quite like the dread-soaked finale of the viscerally violent and overwhelingly transgressive 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, this Spanish filmmaker developed a dark, somber , often savage world with some tiny , forlorn twinges of hope.

Although Unicorn Wars feels like it stemmed from a drive to expand animation further, the director clarified that it was actually a try to express a widespread, multicultural theme regarding “the common origin of each battle.”

That message is conveyed via a group of colorful pastel bears , clearly inspired by a famous line of cuddly figures.

Growing up in a culture built around warmongering and the war machine, many of these animals are consumed by exterminating the mythical beasts, because of a sacred text that claims the bears they used to be masters of the woods, until the unicorns drove them out.

Others have not completely accepted the propaganda, and would rather try out substances or mate in the forest.

In contrast to their cuddly equivalents, these bright beings display genitals , clear urges.

For one especially vicious, skeptical animal, the character Bluey, the war against unicorns turns into a path to power — and especially to supremacy over his gentler, kinder brother the character Tubby.

This bear is a bully and an apparent sociopath , and while fear takes over his squad and takes his teammates individually, he takes more and more influence on his own behalf, via progressively gory, harmful methods.

Simultaneously, the horned creatures are experiencing their own nightmare, in the form of a spreading, deadly beast in their forest.

“At the beginning, it appears as a lighthearted film,” the filmmaker said. “However it becomes a more serious and melancholic film. And in the finale, it becomes a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars commences feeling a bit like one of the more quirky films by a legendary filmmaker, that uncover a naughty glee in permitting drawn beings curse, shoot each other, or sex each other up.

Subsequently it evolves into closer to a more grim movie from the same artist, with increasingly graphic violence and a tangible relation to the actual horror of war.

By the end, it’s an outright extreme drama massacre.

The fear which makes this a perfect Halloween movie begins much sooner than that description suggests.

Unicorn Wars is ideal for the hardcore gorehounds, for fans of graphic films who want to watch a film they have not viewed until now, and are able to withstand a story which delivers no restraint.

See it in a dark room free from interruptions, and that ending will dig deep within you and linger.
